Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Bojan Sudjic

Bojan Suđić is one of the most brilliant conductor names that arose from ex-Yugoslav region in the end of 20th century.

He made his professional debut at the age of nineteen.

At the Yugoslav Competition of Music Artists (Zagreb, 1989) he got the First prize which, in this category had never been awarded since the establishment of the competition in 1940. In the same year he was awarded scholarship from the Lovro von Matačić’s Foundation.

Bojan Suđić is equally successful as a coral, symphonic and opera conductor.

In his rich carrier he was permanent-conductor of the RTV Choir and Symphony Orchestra, guest-conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic and chief-conductor and General Music Director of the National Theatre Opera and Ballet in Belgrade.

Since 2001. he was a permanent-conductor of the Royal Opera in Stockholm where he conducted over hundred and fifty opera and ballet performings. Bojan Suđić was guest-touring in Russia, Germany, Greece, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Bulgaria, Portugal, Brazil and China.

As a symphonic conductor he cooperated with many European orchestras among them the Philharmonic of Helsinki, the Novosibirsk Philharmonic, the Odense Symphony Orchestra, the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, as well as with the symphonic orchestras from the ex-Yugoslav region (Zagreb Philharmonic, Croatian RTV Symphony Orchestra, Macedonian Philharmonic, Rijeka Philharmonic).

In the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki he conducted several performances within the regular season as well as the Gala concert on occasion of the New Millennium.

He presented himself to the audience of Athens Festival as the conductor of Bizet’s “Carmen” and at the Festival in Wiesbaden with Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” with ensembles of the Swedish Royal Opera and Ballet from Stockholm.

In 2005. he became Chief Conductor/Artistic Director of the RTV Music Production completing his long-term successful cooperation with this house.

Great number of concerts and recordings with ensembles of the RTV Music Production is the testimony of that cooperation. In the same year he started his pedagogy activity, becoming a professor of conducting at the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade.
