The Village Sits Idle As The World Crumbles
This hit series is an elegiac tale of a present-day 21st century Serbian village.
It is a comedy with expressed elements of melodrama whose heroes are little, ordinary people with big hearts. It a warm story of family, patron saints, sons and fatherhood, of secrets that everyone knows about. This is a story whose heroes live in the confluence of three Morava rivers, in Sumadija, Serbia, but also in every place on Earth where love and joy of living are the moving forces of existence and survival. The protagonist is a peasant named Radasin, who is also the narrator of the story of his family, time and the village where he lives, of the peasants he spends his days with, namely Dragojlo, Djoda and Milasin. Radasin's family, whose fate he gladly talks about and ponders of, is made up of his wife Radojka, son Radoslav, Swedish daughter-in-law Ingrid, their son Thomas, i.e. Toma, and daughter Miona with her husband Radenko and their children Milica and Milutin.
